Examples of Packing Method

●Case (Closed Box Type)
This packing method is to cover the circumference of product with plywood to prevent it from being visible from the outside.
It protects the product from rain, dust, etc. As it is a closed type, it provides an antitheft device.
It is a typical packing method for a wide variety of export cargoes.

●Skid
It is one of the especially effectual packing methods for a bare product which cannot be stuffed into a container easily.
It can reduce cost, but careful attention must be paid when loaded together with other cargoes, as no protection is given to it.

●Barrier Packing (Vacuum Packing)
This method, barrier packing, is especially for machinery. A product is covered by barrier materials.
And the product is kept in an almost vacuum condition after a desiccating agent is put in and air is evacuated.
Air evacuation keeps the product dry and it enhances a rust preventive effect.
It is commonly combined with the case packing method.
And the applications of this method to food stuff, cosmetics and medicines are increasing.

●Crate (Watermark Wooden Box)
This is one of the packing methods using wooden frames so that a product can be seen from the outside.
It suits to a product which does not particularly require waterproof or a product which requires only partial protection.
It can reduce cost. And it can be applied to a wide variety of commodities including large and heavy products.

●Steel Case
This is one of steel versions of case (closed box) packing method. It has a higher strength than plywood or wood, and the packing weight can be reduced.
The fumigation of packing materials is not necessary, and so the acquisition of fumigation certificate should not be worried about.

●Reinforced Corrugated Cardboard Pallet
In the destination countries of export there are severe requirements for plant quarantine.
Under such a situation, this method is to use reinforced corrugated cardboards as one of the substitutes.
Comparing with a wooden case of the same volume, its weight is about one third. This method suits to air transportation according to the characteristics of each cargo.
